After the procedure. Months later they put me in collections even though i had insurance. They never sent the health insurance EOB to the dental insurance! They claimed to have tried reaching out to me but never did! If you come here be cautious and MAKE SURE EVERYTHING is good! Luckily i no longer have the collections on record but No other person should be getting screwed by this place! Also after 2 weeks my upper right side was infected twice! The second time was so bad i had to go to my primary dentist with an emergency who numbed me and squeeze out whatever grew from the infection. This place overall sucks! My procedure should have been covered, but the office submitted copies to my insurance company that were not legible. Because of this, the claim was denied. The insurance company even informed them of the issue, but when they resubmitted, the same problem occurred. What made this worse is that the office never informed me of these denials in a timely manner. By the time I found out, too much time had passed, leaving me without enough days for the claim to be processed again. This lack of communication and attention to detail directly cost me my insurance coverage for a service that should have been approved. Patients trust their dental office to handle insurance matters professionally, and in this case, that trust was completely broken. Let me start by saying as far as skills go, they're great. Your teeth will get straight, clean, or whatever service you're going for. It's their admin that has me hot! I've always had Delta PPO while I was a patient there. My job was bought by another company twice. Both times I updated my insurance with the same lady at the desk. Then I switched jobs and months later updated the same lady with my new insurance. Again, it was always Delta PPO, just from different states. My new job was purchased by a new company and switched to Delta PPO again in a new state. I updated the lady at the desk. One day my car was totaled and I could not make it to my appointment. By this time, I had been a patient there for 4 years. They called me and said they have not received one payment from my insurance. I called my most recent insurance and the last one before them, both confirmed they had not received ONE CLAIM or whatever it's called from Oak Park Dental. I called them that very day and told them what both Delta companies told me. I was told I would get a call back. Then I started leaving messages with their billing lady and til this very day, I have not heard back. I even left a message almost 2 months ago. Nothing. I'm so sad over this because I liked my orthodontist and his assistant. I was told the call to not remove my braces was the orthodontist's decision and to me, that was so wrong. I will never look at them the same or recommend anyone to them. Your smile is everything and they ruined mine and were so rude when I tried to rectify. I read the positive reviews and planned to have this be the new dentist office for my family. I made appointments for both my son and my wife online through their booking system for the same day. When my wife showed up for her appointment, she was told that there wasn’t an actual dentist/doctor there who could see her tooth- they only had hygienists there for cleaning that day. They also said there would be no one there that afternoon who could see our son either. They said that the online booking system doesn’t really work and that they need a new one, and since she was there in person, to reschedule there for an actual appointment. My wife had a tooth emergency so decided to go elsewhere for herself, but rescheduled our son’s appointment. Fast forward to today- our son’s appointment was at 9:30am, so he had to miss school in the morning to go to the appointment. When they arrived for his appointment, my wife was told, “Oh the person who was supposed to see him called in sick. You’ll have to reschedule because no one is here who can look at his teeth or do a cleaning.” My wife expressed her frustration, saying that he had missed school for the appointment. She was told, “I’m sorry, but we tried to call you to cancel.” She saw she had a missed call from 40 minutes before. At that point he’d already have been missing school, and it wasn’t enough time to have made a difference in the outcome of the morning. They once again, asked to reschedule. This time we said no. We will be finding another place to go. It seems that they do not consistently have dentists and hygienists here that can actually work on your teeth. None of us need to miss more work and/or school to get an actual appointment that isn’t cancelled or rescheduled.Load more
